More than a placement. The beginning of your leadership journey. 

Our Global Leadership Programme gives you the opportunity to develop as a leader through structured learning, real responsibility, mentorship, reflection and hands-on experience in international development.

You’ll live in one of our incredible locations and take on the role of a Group Mentor & Project Implementer (GMPI). Here, you’ll work alongside local teams and communities, mentor international participants and contribute to meaningful, community-led projects – gaining real responsibility and leadership experience along the way.

Programme Objectives:
  • Develop leadership skills, practical abilities, and experiences to boost employability, professional growth, and personal development.
  • Engage in impactful projects that address local needs and promote sustainable community development.
  • Build cultural awareness and global perspective to collaborate effectively in diverse environments.
Your Responsibilities:

Lead and mentor participants
Guide groups through their experience, facilitate reflection and help young people build confidence and independence.

Deliver community projects
Work alongside local teams and partners to bring workshops and activities to life.

Navigate real-world challenges
Make decisions, adapt plans and respond calmly when things change.

Measure and communicate impact
Support monitoring, reporting and responsible storytelling around the work you’re contributing to.

Application Checklist

  • Tertiary qualification (or about to graduate prior to embarking on this journey)
  • Excellent command of the English language
  • Availability: Able to relocate to a new country for 3-6 months
  • Passion: International development and doing good in the world are what drive you
  • Confidence and adaptability: You can think on your feet, address a group of people and navigate a potential crisis
  • Independence and curiosity: You’re excited by the idea of traveling on your own, discovering a new culture, meeting new people and making a new country your home for a while
  • Resilience: You know anything worth doing has ups and downs, and you’re invested enough to dig deep on the tougher days, because the overall experience will fundamentally change you in all the best ways
  • Stage 1: Register your interest in the Global Leadership Programme.
  • Stage 2: The Programme Manager will invite you to a mandatory information session with key details about the programme.
  • Stage 3: After this session you will have the opportunity to formally apply. This includes submitting your CV and a 2-3 minute video answering one of the questions provided.
  • Stage 4: If you are successful, you will be invited to a 1-1 interview with our programme manager. 
  • Stage 5: Candidates who pass this stage will be invited to partake in an online scenario based task.

Application Process

  1. Application: 
    When clicking on the link below, you’ll be asked to submit a CV, a short motivation as well as answer a few questions that will help us get to know you better. 
  2. Interviews: 
    If you are shortlisted successfully, you will attend 2-3 interviews with a range of team members including our Head of the Global Leadership Programme as well as your potential Country Manager.  
  3. Offer: 
    Prior to an offer from us, we will do reference checks as well as request a recent police clearance. Once you’ve signed on, you will receive comprehensive pre-departure onboarding prior to jetting off on your new adventure!
