Role Title: Country Manager – Cambodia (Battambang)

Reports to: Regional Director – Programmes and Partnerships

Reportees:

  • Programme Delivery Lead
  • Programme Implementor
  • Group Mentor and Project Implementor


Location: Cambodia (Battambang)

Role Responsibilities
Main Duties:
  • Provide strategic leadership and oversee all operations in-country.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with local partners, stakeholders, and communities.
  • Set out the annual strategic plan for the country and ensure programmes aligns with this.
  • Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of programmes.
  • Coordinate logistics and support systems for incoming student groups, ensuring effective orientation and guidance
  • Ensure compliance with organisational policies, legal, risk and safety requirements.
  • Be a champion of the organisational brands and propositions externally and internally.

Financial Management:
  • Manage the country budget, ensuring responsible financial management and commercial accountability.
  • Monitor expenditure, prepare financial reports, and ensure cost-effective operations.

People Management:
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the in-country team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Conduct performance reviews and support staff development.

Relationship Management:
  • Build and sustain partnerships with local NGOs, government bodies, and other stakeholders.
  • Build strong relationships with other business teams globally

Business Development and Forward Planning:
  • Identify opportunities for growth and expansion of the Country operations
  • Contribute to strategic planning and development initiatives regionally and globally.
  • Oversee completion of local NGO registration process and ensure all governance, financial, and reporting requirements are met in accordance with local regulations.
About You
Qualifications and experience required for this role:
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in International Development, Management, or a related field.
    • Extensive leadership experience in non-profit or development sectors.
    • Strong financial acumen and project management skills.
    • Excellent cross-cultural communication and partnership-building skills.

Training and Development Needs:This role profile is not exhaustive; it will be subject to periodic review and may be amended to meet the changing needs of the business. The post holder will be expected to participate in this process, and we would aim to reach agreement to the changes.
